Day 2: Locked out.

Seriously, its only been 1 day and i already managed to lock myself out of my own room.

Woke up pretty late so everyone was already out for uni orientation (mines tomorrow). Decided to take a nice hot shower... nekkminit cant get back into my room. All i had were my Pjs and towel.
I looked fucken crazy walking around the student village in my pyjamas with no shoes and dripping wet hair trying to hunt down a phone to call the landlord.
I'm so good with first impressions... when i knocked on my neighbours door, they looked genuinely scared. But i managed to call for help and i only had to wait around an hour to get my door open again. At least i had F.R.I.E.N.D.S to kept me company. ha ha, i'm funny.

But seriously, it was way to early for all that drama.

OH i found out i live across the street to a horse.
Its sooo pretty and white. i want to go visit it but i'm scared i might get chased by some old hillbilly with a pitchfork yelling "GET OFF MA LAWN YA HOOLIGAN". Totally not stereotyping.

Went grocery shopping today at Aldi which is like the official sign i'm a broke uni student :(
Looks like its 79c vegetarian spaghetti for dinner. yey
Food donations are more than welcome ;)

It actually tasted okay...

Excited for orientation tomorrow. Hopefully i can take a decent photo for my ID. friggen first world problems i know, but if youve seen my drivers licence you would understand ==

I think i'm getting hayfever here, i keep sneezing.. someone buy me clarytine please.

Day 1: Its KERRY.

Heres an obligatory travel photo for you :)

Cloud carpet!

Caught an early ass plane to Brisbane, and it didnt help that i couldnt sleep the night before cause i'm one of those 'lets leave everything to the last moment and then panic' people. Never been more tired and stressed in my life.

Arrived in Brisbane Airport at 7:30am looking like a half dead raccoon. dem eye bags.

Why are my lips so damn dry. ew.

I booked one of those Door to door services where they pick you up from the airport in a minivan. I always wanted to be picked up at the airport by some guy holding my name on a piece of paper- Just like in the movies!
But nothing really is as glamorous as the movies, i should really learn haha. Got picked up by the name "Kerryn Jung" illegibly scrawled across some fluro orange paper... close nuff.

Took around an hour from the airport to Ipswich but the driver was super nice and told me all about the area.
Wanted to sleep in the car but my mum was being all asian, worried sick that i'd get kidnapped or something, and kept calling me every 10 minutes to make sure i was still alive == .

Got home safe and sound.
My place is so nice. has a pool and errthang 8)

Oh, and my contract was under "Terry Jung". Seriously??
Do i have some weird Sydney lisp or something, why cant Queenslanders understand me D: ITS KERRY. KERRY GODDAMMIT.

View from balcony

Met my roomies! Only have 2 so far, getting 1 more this friday i think?
Ate dinner with one of em, lets call her B, shes a first year like me too : D
B came up from NSW as well but more from the country side ish, so it was super fun finding out the major differences between city and country life.
One of the biggest things that blew my mind was the slang. Like, she didnt know what jigging was. apparently they say wagging, and she's never heard the word chat used in a derogatory adj. like, 'ermagerd thats so chat'
Also, they drink rainwater from a tank! seriously... try do that in sydney, you'll probably die.

So far, i like this new town and i like my roomies : D people seem so much nicer and calmer here, even the bus drivers are super ..nice? (i should read a thesaurus before uni..)

As cheesy as it sounds, i cant wait to meet more people and make new friends. yaay.

Intro

This holiday has been wayyy too long.. and i'm not the type who manages my time to get shit done- i'd rather be sleeping. So i think its safe to say that I haven't used my brain properly since hsc... i probably dont even know how to open a book let alone write an interesting blog diary thing with my limited vocabulary.

So this is going to be my online journal type thing of my new life in Ipswich, Queensland. yaay.
Lets see how long i can keep this up.
